Hi there!
We hope you’ve been enjoying the warm weather. British Summer Time is well and truly here!
July is always an important month in the disability calendar as Disability Pride comes to the fore. Whilst over the past month we’ve no doubt seen an increase in conversations and awareness – both at a corporate level and, at least anecdotally, an individual one, there have also been many significant setbacks and disappointments in terms of government policy and rights both here in the UK and abroad.
As we look towards the rest of the year and beyond, there’s never been a more important time for individual people and workplaces to step up and drive support for disability inclusion and accessibility initiatives at work.
To that end, as we head into August, in this edition of Beyond Compliance, we’ve sought to provide you with the right tools and advice to create accessible, and inclusive experiences that we hope will last well beyond the month of July.
We hope you enjoy!
Thanks,
Matt Pierri

Design and Disability at the V&A: On from now until February 15th, 2026
Design and Disability at the V&A is a powerful display of culture-making contributions by the Disabled, d/Deaf, and neurodivergent community to design innovation, which we cannot recommend highly enough!
In the lead up to the exhibit, we were excited to lead a series of disability awareness and training workshops for Front of House staff at the museum, to support the V&A's staff to think critically, and imagine what an inclusive, accessible visitor experience looked like in practice.

Putting access and inclusion at the heart of the museum experience is crucial to ensuring that stories and exhibits about our community, keep our voices and lived experience at the centre of the conversation - from inception and curation, to being able to visit and enjoy.
