How is the accessibility information collected for businesses?
We offer two methods for businesses to collect and update accessibility information, depending on the size of the business and the type of support needed.
For larger businesses or more complex sites, our trained data collectors, known as mappers, can visit the venue in person. During this visit, they record structured accessibility information and take high-quality photos throughout the site.
For smaller businesses, we offer a predominantly self-serve option. This gives businesses the opportunity to manage and update the accessibility information for their own venue through a process guided by our team.
Our verification process has two stages. First, accessibility information is collected either through an in-person mapping visit or through the self-serve business route. Then, our in-house team reviews the information for accuracy, clarity and consistency before the accessibility guide is published.
