Sociability is a disability-led technology company helping disabled people explore the world with confidence. Our platform makes it easy to find and share reliable, detailed accessibility information for places and spaces across the UK, from cafés, restaurants and shops to workplaces, public buildings, events and venues.
Whether someone is checking for step-free access, accessible toilets, quiet spaces, lighting, or sensory considerations, Sociability puts clear, honest accessibility information into the hands of disabled people, their friends, families and carers, so they can make informed decisions before visiting.
Founded by Matt Pierri, Sociability began as a student project at the University of Oxford. The app officially launched in 2019, and the company was established in 2020 with a mission to make accessibility information easier to find, understand and share.
Today, Sociability works with both individuals and organisations to improve accessibility awareness and inclusion. We have mapped almost 20,000 places across the UK, with all locations assessed in person by trained mappers to ensure accurate, consistent information that reflects real-world access.
