How do I use the search function?
You can use the search function in two key ways:
To explore a range of venues: Why not search for a particular venue type (e.g. “restaurant”) and/or the location you're in (e.g. “Paddington, London”). If you have location settings turned on, you can also search for venues nearby.
To find a specific venue: Simply search for the name of the venue. We find it helpful to include suburb and/or city (e.g. “McDonalds Paddington London”) as well. If multiple options come up, you can use the map or list views to choose between them.
When searching for venues, you should also note that we only show venues that appear on Google Maps, and we only show show particular types of venues – namely, hospitality and retail venues like restaurants, cafés, bars and shops.
If you're looking for a different venue type, we will not be able to show it at the moment – although we're looking to add more venue types in the future.
If you're having trouble finding a venue, follow these steps.
